Press release — for immediate release
The curriculum spans Cyber Security Fundamentals, GIS and Drone Mapping, Renewable Energy Digital Systems, Digital Marketing, Social Media Management & Content, and HSE Fundamentals — now available through Paleon Training’s online training portal.
Nigeria — Paleon Training has completed its six-course digital skills curriculum, now available to Nigerian university students, NYSC members, graduates and non-graduates through its online training portal. The curriculum spans Cyber Security Fundamentals, GIS and Drone Mapping, Renewable Energy Digital Systems, Digital Marketing, Social Media Management & Content, and HSE Fundamentals — covering practical, industry-relevant digital skills across technology, environmental and mapping technology, energy, marketing, communications, and workplace health and safety.
The programme
Each course is delivered as a structured, self-paced programme combining illustrated lessons, practical assignments and a capstone project, designed to give learners demonstrable evidence of applied skill rather than a certificate alone. The curriculum is aimed at a broad range of learners: current university students preparing for the job market, NYSC members using their service year to build additional capability, recent graduates competing for graduate-trainee and entry-level roles, and non-graduates and career changers seeking practical digital skills training outside a traditional degree pathway.
The curriculum was built around a specific gap Paleon Training identifies in the Nigerian graduate job market: many candidates hold strong academic qualifications but have limited opportunity to demonstrate practical, industry-relevant skills before entering competitive graduate-trainee and entry-level hiring processes. The six course areas were selected for their connection to industries with significant graduate interest in Nigeria, including oil and gas, banking, and telecommunications.
A complement, not a substitute
The six courses are structured to complement, not replace, a learner’s existing academic qualifications and, where relevant, industry-specific professional certifications. HSE Fundamentals, for example, is designed to build foundational health, safety and environment awareness relevant to industrial and operational environments, and is positioned as a complement to — not a substitute for — recognised professional HSE certifications required for dedicated safety-critical roles. Similarly, GIS and Drone Mapping builds practical spatial-data and mapping skills without implying a professional surveying licence, and Cyber Security Fundamentals builds foundational digital security awareness without implying a professional security certification.
Course pricing varies by programme, reflecting differences in course length and content depth, and is published transparently on the Paleon Training portal. The full curriculum, course details and enrolment information are available there.
Context
Paleon Training’s positioning reflects a broader, well-documented challenge facing many Nigerian graduates: strong competition for a limited number of structured graduate-trainee places, internships and entry-level roles, often among applicants with broadly similar academic qualifications. The company’s approach is not to claim that digital skills training guarantees employment, but to help learners build a more demonstrable, practical skills profile that can complement their academic qualifications. See our companion guide on why a degree alone often isn’t enough for the fuller picture.
